KnowMyFace Privacy Policy
How KnowMyFace handles face photos, reports, account details, purchases, and browser data
2026/08/14
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how KnowMyFace collects, uses, shares, retains, and deletes information when you use our website, face-analysis tools, reports, account features, or support channels.
Face photos and analysis results are sensitive personal content. We use them to provide the analysis and report you request. We do not sell face photos or reports, publish them as user profiles, use them for identity recognition, or build face-identity token libraries.
Information We Collect
Photos and analysis content
When you choose a photo, the browser may prepare and temporarily save a processed copy on your device so you can reuse or remove it. When you start an analysis, we receive the submitted photo and information needed to evaluate photo suitability and produce the requested results.
Analysis content may include the prepared face image, visual measurements, face and feature classifications, appearance estimates, hairstyle and makeup recommendations, visible cosmetic skin observations, report data, and a privacy-safe share card. Skin content is not medical data or a diagnosis, although the photo itself may still be personal information.
Visitor and account information
We create a private visitor-session credential so a guest can return to an analysis without making it public. If you sign in, claim a report, or ask us to email you, we may collect your email address, account identifier, sign-in method, email verification status, and related security records.
Device, security, advertising, and support information
We may receive ordinary request and security information such as IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, requested pages, interaction and performance data, error records, and actions needed to prevent abuse or investigate reliability. Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Plausible, and Umami process website analytics, while Google Ads measures confirmed purchases. Enhanced conversions use a normalized, SHA-256-hashed checkout email. If you contact us, we receive the message and any information you choose to include.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- prepare the photo and provide the face analysis, free result, and Complete Report you request;
- keep reports private and authorize access for the correct visitor or account;
- process purchases, fulfill reports, send transactional email, and handle payment disputes or refunds;
- let a verified account save, reopen, download, or delete reports;
- provide support, investigate errors, secure the service, and prevent misuse;
- comply with legal, accounting, and payment obligations; and
- evaluate and improve result quality using operational records that do not require retaining a recoverable face image after deletion.
We do not retain a recoverable copy of a deleted face image for a separate model-training or accuracy dataset in this version of the service.
How We Share Information
We disclose only the information needed to service providers that help us operate private storage and hosting, perform requested analysis, deliver authentication and transactional email, process payments, provide website analytics, and protect the service. Those providers process information for their assigned purpose under their own contractual and legal obligations.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, to investigate fraud or a security incident, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not make private report URLs or source photos available as public content.
Retention
Stored face photos, analysis results, and Complete Report objects are automatically deleted after 180 days unless you delete a saved report sooner. A daily retention job removes the corresponding private-storage objects after they expire. A guest visitor credential normally provides access for up to 7 days. A prepared photo saved in your browser can be refreshed for short-term reuse and is removed after no more than 30 days, or sooner when you choose Remove saved photo or clear site data.
Deleting a report hides it from your account and schedules the associated face image and report objects for deletion. A downloaded PDF or share card remains wherever you chose to save it, so you must delete those copies separately.
Order, refund, dispute, security, tax, and accounting records may be retained longer when needed for legal or financial obligations. These records do not need to contain the source face photo.
Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- use Remove saved photo to clear the prepared browser copy;
- delete an individual saved report from My Reports;
- manage cookies and local site data through your browser;
- contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available in your location.
We may need to verify your email or account before acting on a request. Some financial or security records may be retained when the law permits or requires it.
Security
We use access controls, private report authorization, protected transport, restricted administrative access, and other safeguards intended to reduce unauthorized access or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep private report links and email sign-in links confidential, and contact us if you believe someone else has accessed your report.
Children
KnowMyFace is not directed to children who cannot legally consent to the processing described here. Do not upload a minor’s photo unless you have the authority and consent required by applicable law.
International Processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for those transfers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the product, law, or data practices change. We will post the revised date on this page and provide additional notice when required.
